ACTS prayer method

The ACTS prayer method, guided

ACTS is a simple pattern for balanced prayer: Adoration, Confession, Thanksgiving, then Supplication. PrayerMap guides every prayer session through the four phases, each with a reflection prompt and a rotating scripture in your Bible translation, and then opens your prayer list for the supplication.

It is on by default, and one tap in your profile turns it off if you would rather go straight to your list.

Adoration, confession, thanksgiving, supplication

The ACTS prayer method in PrayerMap
PhaseWhat you do
AdorationBegin with praise, not for what God has done but for who He is: His holiness, faithfulness and love.
ConfessionInvite the Holy Spirit to search your heart, bring anything unconfessed into the light, and receive His forgiveness.
ThanksgivingName specific things God has done: answered prayers, daily provision, the grace you have seen this week.
SupplicationBring your requests. Your PrayerMap prayer list is waiting, organized so nothing is forgotten.

Each phase in a PrayerMap session shows a short reflection prompt and a scripture verse that rotates from session to session, in the translation you chose. Guided prayer like this keeps a prayer time from becoming only a list of requests.

Guided prayer that stays balanced over time

The Reports page includes an ACTS breakdown, so you can see how your prayer time has been shared across adoration, confession, thanksgiving and supplication over the weeks. It is a mirror, not a score.

Thanksgiving and supplication connect to the rest of PrayerMap: answered prayers from your journal give you specific things to thank God for, and the supplication phase is your scheduled prayer list for the day, where you can also pray like Paul over any person.

Psalm 100:4 (NASB95)

Questions about ACTS prayer in PrayerMap

What does ACTS stand for in prayer?

ACTS stands for Adoration, Confession, Thanksgiving and Supplication: praise God for who He is, confess sin, thank Him for what He has done, then bring your requests. It is a long-standing Christian pattern for balanced prayer.

Is there an app that guides ACTS prayer?

Yes. PrayerMap guides every prayer session through the four ACTS phases with a reflection prompt and a rotating scripture for each, then moves into your own prayer list for supplication.

Which Bible translation are the ACTS verses in?

The one you choose in your PrayerMap profile: AMP, CJB, ESV, KJV, MSG, NASB, NASB95, NET, NIV, NIV84, NKJV, NLT or RSV.

Can I skip the ACTS phases and go straight to my list?

Yes. ACTS guidance is on by default, and you can turn it off in your profile in one tap.
